Offered here we have a sweet vintage parrot made by Napco in Japan during the 1940's - 1950's. There was a wide variety of planter boxes and wall pockets made during this time period by several companies in Japan but this figurine is unusual and hard to find this complete.
This porcelain bird is hand painted with vibrant colours - it has a slot underneath its perch that attaches to the metal frame it hangs from - stamped inside the body Japan and tail still retains the original Napco foil sticker. Just the Parrot measures 10” tall and is about 3.25” wide - when it is hanging on the swing it measures 16” in total.
This figurine is in excellent condition - there are no chips, cracks, crazing or repairs - hand painted colours are clear, bright and intact - original metal frame complete.
