Offered here is a Royal Albert (Thomas C. Wild & Sons) tea cup & saucer titled "Purple Violet" from "Provincial Flowers" series. This set was made in Longton, England - backstamp dated c.1975 as pictured.
This set represents the Canadian province of New Brunswick - this flower was adopted as their floral emblem in 1936.
Pretty Groupings of Purple Violets on a black back ground. Crisp white porcelain Gainsborough shaped teacup stands 3" high and is highlighted with rich gold gilt - finishing touch of gold banding also trims up the saucer that measures 5.5" in diameter.
This lovely set is in great condition - there are no chips, cracks, breaks, or repairs - thick gilt trim is all clear, bright and intact.
