Offered here is this lovely low bowl from English potters Shorter & Son. This piece was made to handle as the soft satin glaze is wonderful to the touch. The design is a net holding oysters. The rim is a twisted rope motif with the exterior having repeating seashells and crossed hatching. This design is very similar to the wares being produced in California in the 1930's, which is the date of this piece.
The bowl measures 7" in diameter and is 3" high. The base is numbered 782 and S/S. The is a light ink stamp but all that can be made out is England.
There are no chips, cracks, fleabites or repairs. The interior is clean but has age crazing.
