Offered for sale: Vintage Southwestern cuff style Sterling Silver and Turquoise bracelet.
The bracelet is a triple wire cuff with a width of 2 1/4 inches. The bracelet consists of a double shadowbox with turquoise in the center and on either side of the shadowbox, there is a silver overlay leaf or feather. The three wires of the cuff are quite substantial.
The double shadowbox is placed over all 3 wires and anchored at the top and bottom wires. The double shadowbox consists of a 1 1/4 by 7/8 inches piece of turquoise which has both light and dark shades of aqua. The matrix of the turquoise is almost a gunmetal grey. There is a pit in the turquoise where the matrix breaks the surface. It has been there for a while and the turquoise is stable. It can be found near the wide end of the piece of turquoise. The turquoise is bezel set and secured by wide serrated edges. There is 2.5mm wide silver lip that goes all the way around the turquoise on the edge of the inner shadowbox. Surrounding the inner shadowbox is a twisted wire decoration surrounded by the edge of the outer shadowbox. The outer edge has notched decoration.
The width of the bracelet in the center is 2 1/8 inches which narrows to 1/2 inch on the ends. The silver overlay on either side of the center shadowbox helps the bracelet keep its shape. The bracelet weights 89.7 grams. There are no marks but the metals tests as Sterling. The inside of the bracelet is 5 1/2 inches without the opening. The opening is 1 1/8 inches wide. My wrist is 6 1/2 inches and the bracelet is a little tight on me. It goes on but pinches a little. The bracelet is so heavy that I think it would be difficult to change the size of the bracelet.
