Offered for sale: Sterling Silver pendant and necklace with Bisbee turquoise by Carlos White Eagle.
I bought this necklace many years ago from Carlos White Eagle at a show at the Southwestern museum. The turquoise used in the pendant is Bisbee turquoise. The pendant is marked 'Bisbee and Carlos White Eagle' on the back. The pendant tests as Sterling Silver. It measures 2 1/2 by 2 inches. The pendant has a shadowbox setting. The Bisbee turquoise is set in the middle with serrated edges and is surrounded by twisted wire decoration. The top of the turquoise sits 1/2 inch above the bottom of the pendant. The pendant has a japanned background. 2 Silver feathers overlay the top edges of the pendant. Below the feathers twisted wire decoration follows the edge of the pendant and there are 2 addition silver edges below the feathers which have a stamped sun ray design. The silver of the pendant has an old mellow patina.
The turquoise and silver bead necklace measures 27 inches end to end. The necklace is decorated with barrel shape turquoise beads which appear to be handmade. I am assuming that this turquoise is also Bisbee turquoise. The silver beads between the turquoise beads appear to be silver overlay. I restrung the turquoise and silver overlay bead necklace as the years had taken their toll on the stringing material. The necklace and pendant weight 100 grams.
