Dresden man~ Glass eyes 18”
A large and beautiful antique Parian shoulder head gentleman with stunning glass eyes. Hand painted features such as upper and lower lashes, closed mouth, rose blushed cheeks, molded, painted hair. Excellent modeling, with deep detailing. Shoulder plate has dark line from old damage, otherwise the detailed shoulder plate with is lovely with molded, gilded neck tie. Age appropriate wear to gold gilding. Two sew holes, with old twill tape secure head to body. Beautiful body of linen, Torso appears to be muslin and arms are kid leather with individually stitched fingers , these must have looked like gloves when new. Legs are very firmly stuffed and do bend at knees and hips. Costume appears to be a copy of his original: blue velvet waistcoat, silk brocade vest and striped wool trousers. He stands 18" tall.
