The DeVilbiss series perfume bottles were sold in 1926. They all have a heavy gold metal overlay and highly desired. This one was catalogue # 1501.
The glass was made by the Fry Glass co. in their bluish foval glass. When DeVilbiss decorated it, they enameled the interior in yellow but the blue color of the foval glass shows at the thicker lower section of the bowl. The metal overlay in gold and the Imperial Series hardware completed the design and a very royal atomizer.
All hardware is present right down to the bulb cover and hose caps done in the decorated style. The original silk bulb & hose are hard but in good condition. An edge on the collar has a small strip of gold lifted … see photo. The siphon tube is intact and the base is signed. A fine tight crack goes across the foot. It is very stable.
At almost 7" it is a beauty.
