This is a very rare example dating to the 19th century. This style of coralene with the thick gilt and accenting blue enamels are quite rare. You often see the cranberry glass with Mary Gregory style decorations, which are actually the most common. This is similar, but the coralene is thicker and with blue opaline enamels used to highlight. This style is also a Persian/Middle Eastern influenced design, and could have been made for that market even. Large at about 9 1/8" tall and 4 7/8" wide. There are also fine enamels within the gold leaves and that are also used to decorate the stars as shown in the photographs.
