Fine cased cranberry cut to clear with very sharp and fine designs that remind me of American brilliant cut glass. Pinwheels, rayed fans, diamonds, ovals and geometrics cut through cranberry to clear. Finely cut and beveled top rim with pewter lid. This dates to late 19th century. Overall excellent condition. Cut rayed base. About 6 1/2" tall to thumbpress and 5 7/8" to lid, and the glass is 5 1/2" tall, about 3 3/8" diameter. Great hand blown, cut, and finished glass. From Bohemian......Germany, Austria, Czech or even Polish. Most like Egermann, but unsure of maker.....is not Moser which these get called as a generic upgrade term. There is one spot on the base edge that looks to have been polished.....so maybe in making, maybe not.....hard to tell, but I mention just in case as I didnt even notice until photographing.....even then I had to scrutinize it. Nothing else to note.....a fine displayable or usable example.
