Best ever 19c green opaline bottle and tray. Fabulous gilt period decorations and overall condition....some gilt rubbing visible mostly to the tray's center, but absolutely no chips, cracks or repairs to either. This is at least 160 or so years old. The tray is about 11" diameter and the bottle is about 8 3/4" tall. Amazingly, there is a Boston Sandwich Glass Company logo within the pontil of the bottle....the tray has a large polished pontil. Both pieces show shelf wear as expected. Both pieces ring with a very high "ping" when tapped. I thought this was French and definitely in the style of Baccarat or St. Louis, and even with the mark I was in disbelief, but have been convinced it is an authentic Sandwich set. Acquired out of the famous Dorothy Lee Jones collection. The glass is dusty...there is no cracqueluere...I should have wiped them down.
