This dates to c1820 or so and is treen and horn lined interior, with exterior pen work. Lid opens and closes. My visible inspection looks like some of the thin veneer(horn?) has wear as you might expect, some age wear to lid edge, a hairline off a knot on backside(see photo, not bad), and one small hole to the right of the furthest right hinge......I think pretty good for about 200 years in age. Early American Federal Period. Measures about 3 5/8" long, 2 1/8" wide, and 3/4" deep.
