This dates to the early 19th century....about c1820's-30s or so, and we could not figure out who made it. We were certain it was European, but we thought English or Bohemian. The form, color, finishing, and overall fine quality just didnt fit either one of these, especially for the age. But, just recently we were informed that it almost certainly Russian glass! Now we just wish we knew the maker! Very likely Imperial glass. Considering it is about 190 years old and with a just a few small chips here and there without anything distracting or eye catching, it is a great piece for display regardless of who made it. No cracks and no repairs. General wear shows to the base and lid as expected. The base has an engraved motif and the lid and body are all nicely faceted and designed. Concave polished Measures 8 1/8" tall and is about 3 5/8" diameter across the widest of the lid. Absolutely guaranteed early period 19th century. This has fantastic color, and a lid.....quite scarce indeed and an absolutely understated color that really shows when brightly backlit.
