Great deep scarlet red opaline cased wine glass with parcel gilt decorations with an Arabic/Middle Eastern influenced design. Very heavy and solid. Hand made, decorated, and cut. Measures about 6 1/2" tall and 3 5/8" diameter. The base has a tight and small polished pontil mark as photographed. I believe this dates to about c1855. I found a nearly identical example in "Das Bohmisches Glas" referring to this as Theresienthal, but I would have thought it more along the lines of Harrach or even French really, and I believe the book is a mis-attribution. The interior is gilt also, but has been rubbed. Still solid and without any chips, cracks or repairs.
