I believe this is by Hawkes and in the Aberdeen pattern, and I bet it was probably signed with an acidstamp on the base which has since been obscured by the shelf wear. I have looked high and low and not come up with this form/shape in any books, catalogs, or websites. I have found 2 bowls, a plate, an ice tub, and a handle to compare the pattern....but no vases...just finding pictures of them is difficult to say the least. In any case, this measures 8 1/8" tall and is 6 1/8" diameter across the top. It has one good chip to a tooth, and another much smaller....both of which I have shown in the photographs below. This also has lots of small flecks/chips in a band about an 1" thick around the widest part of the waist, apparently from being moved a bumping up against other pieces. It is in overall decent displayable shape. I have added lots of super up close photos and went all around the waist so am probably making this look worse than it is. These are very hard to photograph as I am sure any collector knows. There is one small impact point on a clear tendril as shown also. In any case....I was sure this is a super rare piece, but it hasn't flown out of my possession like I thought it would. I see the bowls rather frequently as I have mentioned, but I can find no pictures or reference to this shape. I have several more pictures if needed. This has been reduced and reduced......I thought this was extremely rare?
