His is a painting done by Don Yacoe while at the Chicago Art Int. in 1948. The painting on canvas measures approximately 16" x 20". The canvas has been repaired by my conservator. I have owned this painting for many years. It's a very good example of American life.
ABOUT THE ARTIST: Donald Edward Yacoe was born November 22, 1923 in Chicago Illinois. During WWII he was a staff artist with the 8th Army in the Pacific Theater. After getting his masters degree at the Art Institute of Chicago he taught for over 20 years at C.W. Post College of Long Island University, at Adelphi and Hofstra Universities, on Long Island and at the University of Hawaii at Manoa, Honolulu, HI. A Professor Emeritus of Art, he died Sunday, June 14, 2009, in Newburgh, New York.
