Antique Rose Cut Diamond Heart Ring set in 14k and Sliver, European c.1860
Diamonds have long been associated with matters of the heart. Perhaps it is because they are resilient, like love? Maybe it's because, like love, they bring joy to those who gaze upon them? Perhaps it is because they are a physical manifestation of the incredible invisible world of light and color that is all around us, just like love!
This fabulous antique ring was hand made in Europe during the 1860's, most likely in Holland. The lively rose cut diamond is collet set in a silver mounting, a, spectacular foil backed, heart shaped stone which flashes golden sparkles of light with every turn of the hand. It is set atop a beautifully hand engraved elegantly tapered 14 karat gold ring and band. This gorgeous antique ring weighs 2.0 grams and is currently a US size 5.25 though it could be sized up or down several sizes by a skilled jeweler who does laser work. The rose cut diamond measures 5.5 x 4.5 mm across the top, however, because it is in a closed foil back setting it is not possible to measure the depth.
This amazing and romantic antique rose cut diamond ring would make a perfect one of a kind engagement ring, or spectacular right hand ring!
