This petite gold locket is bursting with exquisite detail. It’s a modified horseshoe shape for luck and is engraved with ferny details and adorned with a rosy cross and leafy blooms. A perfect gift for Easter or First Communion.
The Victorian locket was hand crafted in 9 karat gold in England in 1897. It
is marked to the reverse with an Anchor to say it was assayed in the town of Birmingham and the letter date ‘x’ for 1897, it also reads 9.375 for 9 karat gold and has the makers mark of ‘W.J.P.’. This locket is a perfect size, not to big and not too small, it measures 21.3 mm north to south and 15.6 mm across and weighs 2.2 grams; it opens easily and closes with a satisfying little ‘snap’.
