Antique Victorian Silver Collar and Locket Necklace with Floral engraving

It was one of her uncontrollable urges; to pull the car over to the side of road and explore old broken down houses. She was in the outskirts of Annecy when the urge struck. The house was brick, once tall and wide in all its glory, now it was half gone but oh so enticing. She snuck around to the back of the property to find an opening in the fence. Overgrown gardens had taken over trellises, climbing high in their attempts to get closer to the sun. She padded through the maze of sunflowers and vines until she came upon a back door, half ajar. She stepped inside to find an antique parlor with a dust covered mirror and a black washed vanity. She sat on the dusty bench in front of the vanity and pulled opened the top drawer. A gasp escaped her mouth when she saw the collar and locket, shiny, untouched for years, protected from weather inside this sturdy wooden chest. She placed it around her neck and peered into the mirror, just to see, before putting it back in its place and slipping out the back door, back to her car, back to her life, as if she was never there.

Behold, the perfect Victorian silver collar and locket! This beauty was fully handcrafted in 1881 in Birmingham, England. The collar is made up of two distinct link shapes, open circle links, measuring 7.2 mm in diameter, and round links with floral pattern measuring 8.5 x 13.3 x 6 mm. This intricate necklace measures 16 inches in length and weighs 46 grams. The stunning locket pendant measures 59 x 36 mm and features an engraved floral motif and two frames when opened. It is fully hallmarked on the locket and bears the date letter, “g”, the anchor for Birmingham, the lion passant for England, and the maker’s mark, “SB & S”.
