I found this bracelet at an outdoor market in the North of England. It was a chilly Spring morning, but bright and sunny. During the train ride up, I sat in the breakfast car and took my time over a pot of coffee, a fluffy omelet and a basket of yummy baked things smothered in butter and orange marmalade from a crystal jar. The tiny bright green leave of the trees were so lacy and delicate, I found them mesmerizing, the way they created shimmering patterns of sunlight on the window of the train. When I saw this bracelet in one of the first cases I looked in, it reminded me of those lacy trees, the sun shining through casting patterns on my arm. I thought it was lovely, like Spring.
I was only more thrilled to turn it over and see the mark for Liberty of London and the 9 karat gold tongue on the clasp, both signs of the highest level of quality. I couldn't find another one of these anywhere to compare it to, but I assume from the style of the mark and the general make and style of the bracelet itself that this is a vintage piece from the 60's or later. It is 7.5 inches long and 1 inch wide and contains 7 pierced panels including one which houses a built in clasp. It has a safety catch for added security. It weighs 30.6 grams. It is marked "Liberty" and "Silver" and tests as sterling silver and 9 karat gold.
Wrist are highly undervalued real estate when it comes to jewelry. This bracelet is extremely comfortable and could easily be worn with just about any outfit. It promises to be noticed!
