Women's place in the world underwent a dramatic shift after WWI, they were now part of the workforce, they had a new found sense of independence and freedom. They smoked, drove, voted. During the day they wore pants, at night they wore dramatic and provocative dresses, low cut, sleeveless, dropped waisted, with slits to make it easier to Fox Trot. They also wore fabulous jewelry. Long earrings to go with newly cropped hair, and bracelets and bangles to show off those bare arms as never before.
This richly embellished round Art Deco bracelet features the geometric and stylized natural designs that characterized the movement. It's combination of yellow gold, pink gold and white gold make it highly wearable with any other jewelry. The bangle was made in France in the 1920's and bears both a makers mark and the French eagles head mark. It weighs 29.4 grams. This bangle has no clasp and slides on over the hand. It has an inner diameter of 2.5 inches and a circumference of about 7.85 inches.
