You are looking at a beautiful French boudoir pillow which dates to the 1930’s.
The background color is best described as mauve, with multi-color flowers which are cascading down the pillow. The flowers and greenery are embroidered/stitched, but I don’t know if they are hand or machine stitched. Regardless, the fabric is simply divine! The pillow is very soft and it feels like a pillow insert and not fiber fill.
The upper left corner features a faded light red satin rose with glossy golden thread in the center representing the stamen. The leaves are done in faded French blue. There is ¾” antique gold metallic trim around all the edges. The back is done in iridescent blue silk, with pinkish lavender highlights, depending on which way you turn it.
The condition is excellent, with the exception of some light staining on one upper edge (the edge directly in back of the flower). It is not very noticeable. My photo makes it appear darker and worse than what it actually is.
The pillow is approx. 20 ½” long X 12” wide. It’s about 4” deep.
This outstanding French boudoir pillow will enhance your boudoir.
