You are looking at a beautiful antique printed Chromolithograph, to be framed, since it appears it was framed at one time. You could also hang it on a wall.
As you can see by the photo of the back, the top and bottom edges have been folded under, with remnants of cardboard or brown paper. The sides are unfinished.
The overall design and colors are beautiful. The Maiden is holding a garland of roses & what I think are lilacs, above her head. She is wearing a floral headpiece, with greenery cascading down over one shoulder.
What might appear as rubbed areas or soiling to the upper right side is actually abstract flowers done in muted tones.
It measures 16” X 20 ½”.
The overall condition is good, with the following to note: above her head, there is a faded line which goes to the top. This was probably due to it being folded for many years. There is an imperfection in the fabric to the left of her left art & to the right of her right arm. Both are original to the fabric and can be seen on the back, very slightly. Her face also has what appears to be a weave imperfection (see pic). On the back, there are brown fold lines & stains (neither affects the front), and also a water stain.
This stain is not very visible on the front right side; I didn’t even see it until I saw the stain on the back. It blends in rather nicely with the light yellow & green tones. I believe this is far nicer than how my description reads.
Measurements: 16" x 21".
This is a gorgeous Chromolithograph which will enhance your décor. You will love it.
