This two piece French Wedding tiara and matching corsage set dates to the late 1800's.
It is simply gorgeous, so I will let the pictures do most of the talking, but some additional information is:
The crown of the tiara features 3 tiers & the entire piece consists mainly of fabric flowers of varying types and sizes (some made of organdy), some tiny hard white beads & green fabric leaves.
There are three dangles/strands/tendrils on each side, and as you can see, the strands include white pearlized beads & fabric flowers. Each of the strands is connected by light green fabric covered wire, which can be repositioned if desired. The 3 tiered band at the crown, along with all the other pieces are wired so you can position them as desired. On the back lower side, there are four tiny metal pieces (two on each side), which extend out, approximately 1/8” to ¼”. These could be clipped off carefully.
The matching corsage features the same fabric flowers as the tiara, along with the original cream silk ribbon, which has many tears in it due to age. This can be easily replaced.
The dimensions of the tiara are: 21" measuring from one end, curving along the center tier, to the other end, not counting the “dangles”. The dangles vary in length from approx. 4" to 3". The center of the tiara is approx. 2 ¾” in height.
The matching corsage is approximately 7" long to the top leaf & is 4" wide.
The condition is amazing, especially when you consider how old these pieces are. They were no doubt in a French Glass Domed Wedding display where they were protected. With that said, there are some loose and/or bent flowers. I am guessing there may be a few missing flowers and leaves as well, but they aren’t visibly noticeable. I would consider these very minor imperfections, which doesn’t distract or take away from this outstanding wedding tiara & corsage.
