You are looking at a beautiful Victorian beaded and wool needlepoint valance wall shelf, which features needlepoint red/pink & gold/beige flowers, along with multi-color green scrollwork.
The background is two tone brown. The beadwork is done in white, opaque, black & gray beads.
There is 3/8” wide black trim along all edges.
The top of the wood shelf is 3 1/8” wide & 15 ¾” wide along the back edge. Measuring along the curved portion, it’s approximately 20”. The longest center portion of the valance is approximately 9 ½” long. The back of the wall shelf has a wood divider in the center, with a hook at the top. You will need to add a hook at each end if you decide to display items on it, so it’s stabilized. The thickness is just under ½”. The back of the valance is lined in beautiful claret red velvet, which has a slight texture to it.
The overall condition is good to very good, with the following to note: there are some missing beads & needlepoint stitches here and there (see pics), but I wouldn’t consider it too bad at all. The black wool trim is in overall good shape, but there are some old glue remnants mainly on the upper right side, which make the trim stiff. There are no stains or odors.
This is such a pretty Victorian beaded/needlepoint wall shelf, which is so decorative; you will love it.
