This October 1916 "The Theatre" magazine features beautiful advertising graphics, which are perfect for framing.
The signed front cover features Miss Irene Fenwick. The inside front cover advertises Onyx Silk Hosiery; the back cover is gorgeous & features Rauch & Lang Electrics "The Social Necessity". Under Utility, it reads: "Life knows no greater charm than luxurious utility—available on the instant and under all conditions. Every conception achieved in the Rauch & Lang Electric makes it also "The Social Necessity." It is undeniably first in the thought of people of taste, judgment and means to satisfy every desire. On the inside back cover is another great advertisement for The New Willys Knight Sleeve Valve Motor Limousine $1,950.
There are so many pages filled with advertisements, I was only able to show a few. One of my favorite photos is of Kathleen Clifford, who is dressed beautifully, with an ermine hat, stunning coat & huge ermine muff.
The overall condition is quite good for a magazine almost 100 years old. The front/back cover is partially detached (3/4 of it) from the inside pages, with some of the back pages on the verge of being totally unattached. The front cover corners are either bent or torn (see pics); the back cover is bent along the top right edge (see last photo). Both the front/back covers have worn/bent edges. There is some soiling on the front/back & inside back cover; please see photos.
The magazine is 14" long and 10" wide.
You will love looking at the wonderful graphics and great advertisements shown in this magazine.
