This is a rare find: a huge size 16 Triste! This doll stands 33" tall: her bisque head is free from any hairlines or restoration. She has beautiful creamy bisque with huge blue paperweight glass eyes. She has a couple of minor wig pulls that are covered by her original auburn brown mohair wig, which has lots of wonderful curls! She has a closed mouth, pierced ears and is on her original French composition and wood ball jointed body with straight wrists. She is marked 16 on the back of her head and has the mark "Jumeau Medaille d'Or Paris" on her lower back. She dates to 1885 and is the largest size of the Bebe Triste ever made. She was crafted by Emile Jumeau from the noted French sculptor Carrier-Belleuse. She is earing a wonderful antique lace dress in fantastic condition and an antique matching bonnet. She comes with an antique perfume holder on a long chain in addition to earrings with crosses. Her shoes are maroon with rosettes and marked with the bee on the bottom of the soles. This large lovely lady can be yours on layaway with just $600 down provided the remainder is paid in 28 payments or less. International buyers need to check with me on shipping as she may be too large to ship to some countries.
