This is an amazing and very rare automaton: she was made by Theroude circa 1850!! She is 13" tall and seated on a wooden box that houses the music box. Her head is wax over paper mache with stunning blue glass eyes, painted features and open mouth with double row of teeth. She has her original mohair wig and fabulous silk dress. Overall, she is in excellent condition considering her age!! She has some slight crazing on her face. She has her original wood mandolin that when wound, she strums with one hand, while her head moves back and forth and music plays. The dress is red silk with a gold gown and matching bonnet. She also wears a four strand pearl necklace. It is almost impossible to find an automaton by Theroude is this kind of condition. She can be yours on layaway with just $400 down provided the remainder is paid in 12 monthly installments or less. Don't let this fine historical piece of art get away!
