Enjoy this wonderful hand painted bowl by the china painting artist Samuel Heap. He is well known for the beautiful work done at the Stouffer studio for more than 15 years. He also worked at the Pickard studios from 1904-1906. This bowl features the Stouffer studio Mark 4, 1906-1914 and the Pouyat Mark 5a, J.P. over L. France with the patent date of Jan 23, 1908.

This painting is known as "Strawberry spray on olive ground." As the title suggests, it features beautifully painted strawberries and blossoms hanging among carefully detailed vines and leaves. Precise detail is noted to the fruit with shading and highlights forming a beautiful contrast against the olive green background. A gold border encircles the bowl with a delicate black ink line producing contrast. The elaborate gold use is also noted at the base of the bowl.

In near pristine condition, I do not see any scratches, nicks, bumps, or bruises. The gold has very little to no wear with the painted portion of the bowl without fading.

The bowl stands 3" tall and measures 10" in diameter.
