One of a pair of truly magnificent paintings by Colin Graeme Roe also known as Colin Graeme - reputedly he fell out with his family and ever after eschewed his surname.
Roe's paintings vary somewhat in quality, it was said this depended on how much he had been drinking, but here he is seen at the absolute height of his powers. The detailing of the fur is splendid, the expressions truly Ottter Houndish.
And what a treat to have paintings of Otter Hounds - truly a rare subject - or only featured as part of a pack. I can only imgaine that these were someone's favourites.
When I obtained this glorious painting it was extremely dirty. I have had it professionally cleaned and revarnished and it may now be seen in all its glory.
The measure 16 by 14 inches. Originally in appalling frames and as so many like to choose their own frames I have left them in this condition.
If you would like further images please do not hestitate to email.
Should you desire both paintings, (the other being SGA2072) they will attract a 10% discount and I will of course combined shipping and insurance.
