Salty, ruddy sailor, maybe Captain Ahab? Wood carving. Perhaps he was holding a spear in his right hand, which was found without one. His left hand is in his pocket. Great detail on his face and jacket, even the belt buckle shows up.
Approximately 3-3/4” wide by approximately 10-3/4” high by 3-1/2” deep. Approximately 5 oz. in weight.
Great condition. The only things to note are “cheek paint” on his beard and what appears to be a saw mark on the wooden base, near his left foot. Both of these were apparently there at the time the artist did this piece. Not signed.
Great piece for a nautical or wood carving collection!
