COMMENTS: I have researched the hallmarks on this pendant and cannot seem to find the maker. If you know, I would really appreciate you letting me know so I can update the listing! The pendant is impressive measuring 4 inches long with a reversible design so it can be worn with either mostly blue showing or mostly red! The Kokopelli is 1 1/2" wide and over 1/4" thick. The craftsmanship of cutting and setting the stones must have been a tedious job as they all line up perfectly together! One side of the pendant has lots of turquoise with coral accents and black and white headdress. The other side is mostly red with blue and back headdress and jasper flute. Kokopelli is one of the most intriguing and widespread images surviving from ancient Anasazi Indian mythology and is a prominent figure in Hopi legends. The figure represents a mischievous trickster or the Minstrel, spirit of music. Kokopelli is considered a symbol of fertility who brought well-being to the people, assuring success in hunting, planting and growing crops, and human conception. Circa 1980's. Pictured as received from a local estate. Very good estate condition with minimal wear indicative of age. Items will be cleaned but natural patina will be preserved if applicable. Polishing to near new is always FREE upon request!
