COMMENTS: This beautiful wedding set is unique and perfect for someone who loves pink or Rubies! The engagement ring holds a GIA certified Diamond which measures just over 1/2 carat. Surrounding the diamond are rubies in a variety of sizes which make up the top floral design. The top measures 3/8". The shank of the engagement ring and wedding band are dainty with small rubies set down the shoulders of the rings. Sizing the ring may be an issue due to how far the Rubies go down the rings so please be sure to email us with any sizing questions. Ruby is red corundum, all other varieties of corundum being referred to as sapphire. Corundum is the second hardest substance on the Mohs scale, with a rating of 9. It is this combination of excellent hardness and the rich color and silky shine that make fine ruby gems so valuable. Rubies range in color from pinkish to orangey-red, and purplish- to brownish-red, depending on the chromium and iron content of the stone. Most experts expect a medium to medium-dark color tone in a very good ruby gemstone. The rubies in this ring are more of a dark pink than red.
