COMMENTS: Circa 1970's. This piece was originally a pin and was converted to a pendant. The pendant is engraved on the back with "To Grace V. Schafer By Palestine Chapt. No 82 O.E.S Jan 1, 1971." Pictured as received from a local estate. Very good estate condition with minimal wear indicative of age. Cleaning and/or polishing by request at no additional cost.
The Order of the Eastern Star is a Masonic appendant body open to both men and women. It was established in 1850 by lawyer and educator Rob Morris, a noted Freemason. The order is based on teachings from the Bible, but is open to people of all religious beliefs. Each biblical figure is represented by a color on each of the star's 5 points.
