COMMENTS: A glistening GIA certified European-cut diamond, weighing 1.14 carats, glows dead center in this classic Art Deco ‘bull's-eye’ or ‘target’ ring, circa 1920-30's. Graded VS1 clarity, this ring is clean and colorless! Please see GIA certificate for more information, cert number removed so it cannot be printed out and used to represent a different diamond, I will provide you with the cert number if needed but the ring comes with the complete certificate. The gorgeous diamond floats in a platinum bezel inside and above a circular frame of royal blue, calibre-cut sapphires. Taking this ring to the next level and making it even more desirable is the additional halo of diamonds on the outside of the sapphires. A gently detailed undergallery and diamonds running down each shoulder complete this sophisticated original Art Deco classic. This vintage ring will touch your heart and soul with its timeless beauty. It is one of my personal favorites and a rare find! There's something magical about jewelry from another era, with its own story to tell. Pictured as received from a local estate. Excellent estate condition with minimal wear indicative of age. A couple of the sapphires show a little wear under a loupe. Cleaning and/or polishing by request at no additional cost.
The Art Deco Period, which began around 1920 and ended about 1935, produced brilliant jewelry which was in contrast to the jewelry of the previous periods. The emphasis shifted from soft colors and flowing lines to bold, bright colors and straight lines. Women cut their long hair and began wearing it short and boyish. This was the era of jazz and flappers! Art Deco jewelry complimented the flamboyant and playful attitude of the day and remains a favorite of collectors today.
