COMMENT: In the 1830s and 1840s Garnet Jewelry was very popular. In the Victorian language of Gemstones Garnet symbolized loyalty, fidelity and faithful love. The Rich blood red of garnet being associated with the Goddess of Love, Venus, and all matters of romance. Although seen as a more humble gemstone in modern times, in the Victorian Era Garnet was greatly prized.
