COMMENTS: This beautiful brooch dating to the late 1800's is in very good condition with no missing gem stones. All gemstones are original to the piece. The pin back is straight and the original clasp was replaced some time ago with a locking catch. It appears too that at that time there may have been a bale added to wear as a pendant but that is not longer there. Pictured as received from a local estate. Cleaning and/or polishing are available by request at no additional cost. Bohemian Garnet jewelry enjoyed the height of its popularity in the 19th century Victorian era. Today's jewelry connoisseurs still favor bohemian garnet jewelry for the fire and intensity of its blood red garnets and its timeless romanticism.
