ITEM: Authentic Ship Wreck Atocha Salvage Coins / Earrings.
COMPOSITION: Sterling Silver & 14K Gold.
CONDITION: Estate item, excellent.
WEIGHT: 10.8 Grams.
MEASUREMENT: 1-7/8" length over all. Coins in frame approximately 1" X 3/4".
MARKS: None, acid tested to 14K gold standard.
COMMENTS: On September 6, 1622 the Nuestra Senora de Aocha struck a reef and sank off the Florida Keys. These earrings feature two authentic coins from the Spanish Galleon ship wreck Atocha recovered in 1985. The 2 Reales or Escudo coins are set in 14k gold custom frames with shepard hook findings. They come with the original certificate(s) of authenticity signed by Mel Fisher. Also included are 2 informative booklets about the coins and recovery of the Atocha. There are NOT copies made with Atosha silver. They are genuine authentic coins recovered in the salvage.
