Solid Sterling Silver Souvenir Spoon featuring the Alaska Yukon Pacific Exposition in Seattle, Washington 1909
The spoon has a profile of William H Seward, The Father of Alaska atop Chief Seattle surmounting a totem pole. A miner with shovel and gold nugget is standing above crossed pick axes and mining pan with gold nuggets to complete the handle. Descending to the bowl which features three women each of different ethnicity's one holding a ship, another carries a train and the center holds gold nuggets. the bowl reads - H.Y.P.E. Seattle 1909.
The back of the spoon is equally busy, with the flag of the Rising Sun which sits atop a pagoda flanked by a dragon, Mount Fuji with a seascape, flowers, another seascape and a banner with the AYPE logo. The back of the Bowl has Signatures of both the President and Director General of the AYPE. Official Souvenir of the Alaska Yukon pacific Expo.
