COMMENTS: The details and quality craftsmanship of this Victorian chatelaine are beyond compare. It is comprised of three pictorial links with nature inspired motif, flora & fauna. The top link has a three dimensional rabbit in rose gold with incredible life-like detail. The middle link depicts a willow tree on the bank of a body of water with crane in flight.
The bottom link depicts bamboo. The belt clip on the back is crafted of rose gold and is hinged. The bottom clip is also hinged with a locking catch that snaps firmly shut.
The clips make this a useful and versatile piece of jewelry today. Could be worn as a pendant, a watch clip or hang it at your waist to carry a beautiful evening clutch or bag.
The Anglo-Japanese style refers to a period approximately 1872 to 1900 when a new awareness of, and appreciation for Japanese design and culture impacted architecture, and the decorative arts of the United Kingdom and United States. The style developed in parallel with the British Arts and Crafts Movement and the Aesthetic Movement.
