A classic Art Deco icon, gazelles or impalas were frequent subjects of sculpture, decoration, and jewelry of this period. This beautiful leaping gazelle pin, circa 1940, is an impressive size, measuring nearly 4" in length and is approximately 1 1/2" high. Made of silver tone metal, with a pin and safety closure, the sleek gazelle features a green rhinestone eye and wonderful bas-relief detailing in the antlers and across the back and chest.
The piece has developed a lovely non-verdigris patina which serves to accentuate the decorative elements of the pin, particularly in the bas-relief, the eye and hooves, and along the underbelly. Unsigned, this is a truly fine representation of Art Deco elegance!
Each piece of your beautiful vintage costume jewelry will be sent to you wrapped in archival quality, acid-free tissue paper and placed in a gift box tied with ribbon.
This gazelle is an especially beautiful vintage piece and we'd love to see it go to a new home where it will be cherished and appreciated. Please, make us a reasonable offer!
