This darling shallow bowl is marked "James Green and Nephew" of London. This firm was a retailer of ceramic and porcelain from about 1832 through the early to mid 1900's and exhibited at the Philadelphia centennial exhibition in 1876. The bowl shows no other manufacturer's information, however I'm guessing this dates between1900 and the 1940's.

It shows a charming cherub sitting with a goat. It is done in a pretty shade of mulberry.

The border is scalloped and has gold trim. There are a variety of flowers circling the border.

The piece measures 10" in diameter and stands 1 1/2" high. Underneath the "James Green and Nephew" mark on the underside is a picture of St. Paul's Cathedral and the words Victoria St. Paul's.

It is in excellent condition and would make a fine serving bowl or display well as a cabinet plate.
