You know those Victorians. They had a utensil for EVERYTHING. Well what home could be without a sterling silver toast lifter?
This pretty little piece was meant to slide under your toast before the toaster as we know it was invented. It has a vine like handle and a scalloped rectangular plate. The plate is etched with a floral design and has a central cartouche with the word Fsland. I believe this is supposed to be 'Iceland', as the map appears similar. (probably a souvenir piece from a world traveler)
The piece measures 4" in height with the rectangular lifting plate measuring 1 1/2" by 2". It is in fine condition. It is marked 925S J.C. It weighs 21 grams.
