Bringing to you a wonderful desk or dresser tray, dating from the late 1940's to early 1950's and marked "MADE IN OCCUPIED JAPAN".
The piece is made of mixed metals, as the Japanese are known for. It looks like bronze and copper were used. The tray, which has a rectangular shape, measures 7" by 4" and is 1 1/2" tall. It is divided into two compartments, one being an open circular dish and the other a covered box. The piece is embellished with decorative scenes of birds and trees. The best decoration is on the box cover, which shows two cranes by some branches and is highlighted in the copper metal.
This would be a great addition to your desk or night stand, and could hold desk items or jewelry, etc. It is in good vintage condition, with only some minor scratching to the bottom of the open bowl.
