This is such a delightful English pin or brooch. The hallmarks tell us that it was made in Chester, England and dates to 1894. It also tells us it is 925 Sterling Silver. There is also is a registry number on the back that confirms the date of manufacture to 1894. The silver has a gold overlay trim on the two flowers and the rim of the basket.
I love the central basket, which has been applied to the middle and has a pierced base in an intricate design. I also love the shape of the brooch, with its undulating curved border. Oh those Victorians, gave such attention to detail. That is why I fell in love with this period in time.
The brooch has a weight of 3.7 grams and has a c-clasp closure. It measures 1 3/4" in length and at its widest is 7/8". It is in fine antique condition.
