Here is a lovely brooch or pin, resembling the earlier Bohemian garnets of the late 19th and early 20th Century. This one is easy to date, as it is marked MADE IN WEST GERMANY and therefore we know it was made immediately following WWII.

The pin has a 1 1/2" diameter and is covered with deep red garnets that are an elongated pear shape, with a few round shaped ones at its center. It is set prong set into a silver colored metal and has a c-clasp closure, imitating the earlier versions.. Without the hallmarks, I would never have guessed this was a later version.

The piece weighs 8.2 grams and is in fine vintage condition.
