This wonderful spoon is hallmarked 925 GALT & BRO. I could not find any information on the manufacturer, but presume it is an American company. The design leads me to believe it was manufactured in the early part of the 20th Century.
The piece is a sterling silver tea strainer spoon or infuser. It is designed to hold your loose tea leaves and then insert the spoon into your cup of boiling water. It would make a marvelous gift for your tea enthusiast.
The piece is 6" long and weighs 1.265 troy ounces. The handle has a hammered finish on the front and a space for a monogram, but with none present. There is a wreath with a bow at the bottom, around the cartouche. A very pretty design.
The piece is in fine vintage condition, with only a very slight dent in the bowl. A true treasure.
