This fabulous item is a belt buckle dating from the Victorian era - circa 1890. It is made of cut steel, a common material used in this time period.
The piece is shaped like a butterfly and measures 2 1/2" by 2 1/2". It has the hook closure at the back and two bars for you to slip a belt, scarf or fabric through. It would also look sensational sewn on a hat, dress or other article of clothing.
The piece is in very good antique condition and a wonderful way to add charm to your wardrobe.
