This is a wonderful belt buckle, which I believe to be Navajo. It looks to date from the 1950's or earlier. It is made of sterling silver and has a central oval turquoise stone. There is a paper label on the back which reads, "Indian Hand Made Sterling Silver".
The piece measures 3" wide by 2 1/8" up and down. The central oval turquoise stone measures about 1" by 3/4". It is bezel set. The borders of the buckle are scalloped and there are incised lines throughout the entire buckle, creating a wonderful design.
The buckle weighs 62.7 grams and is in fine vintage condition.
