This pretty piece is a late Victorian or early Edwardian pin/brooch made to hold your floral corsage. It is called a posey holder or tussie mussie. The piece is made of hallmarked sterling silver and is covered in white guilloche enamel with a hand painted floral design on top.
The background enamel is white and there are two pink roses with green leaves on either side. It has a c-clasp closure.
The piece weighs 7.5 grams and measures 2 3/4" in length and 1/4" wide. There are some minor stress lines in the guilloche enamel, difficult to see with the naked eye. Otherwise the painting is clear. A very pretty piece of Victorian history.
