This is a wonderful antique box or case designed to hold one's pocket watch. It dates from the late 19th Century.

The box is made of mother of pearl and has a pretty floral etched design on the cover. Perhaps it was meant for a ladies watch, but is fine for one of either sex. The interior is red velvet. The watch in the photo is NOT included. The indentation where the watch would be placed has a diameter just shy of 1 3/4". The box is hinged and has a silver push button latch.

The piece measures 3 1/4" by 2 3/4". It is in good antique condition with some wear to the bottom portion of the interior, with faded velvet. It is slightly warped when closed. as can be seen in the listing photograph. It would be a great place to keep that old pocket watch of yours.
